The regulator is designed to regulate derivative dynamos in a connection with the so-called negative regulation, where the regulator switches the excitation winding of the dynamo against the ground and for a network with a nominal voltage of 12V, which is operated with the negative pole of the battery on the ground. The regulator ensures regulation of the dynamo output voltage, its protection against current overload and the function of a reverse switch, which separates the battery from the dynamo in the event of reverse current from the battery to the dynamo when the engine is stopped or in the event of a dynamo failure.
